A possible mound potentially of prehistoric date is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of 1945 overlooking Otterton to the west. The possible mound is situated on a slight saddle near the tip of a north-facing spur just to the north of Ladram Road and measures circa 24 metres in diameter. The possible mound might be the remains of a burial mound of later prehistoric date. It cannot be seen on later aerial photographs and might have been levelled by agricultural improvement. Further investigation is required. It must be considered possible that such a feature recorded from a single source could be natural in origin or an artefact of natural cropmarks.
