Summary
Possible linear cairn cemetery aligned broadly north-south on the west side of Mardon Down and comprising some nine cairns. One of the cairns was excavated in the 18th century producing ashes, charcoal and sherds of pottery, although which cairn is uknown. Also within the same alignment is a stone circle.

Watts, S., 05/02/2014, Cairn Cemetery on Mardon Down (Personal Comment). SDV356159.
Linear cairn cemetery aligned north-south on the west side of Mardon Down and comprising some nine cairns. Mardon Down Stone Circle is also on the same alignment. The location of the cairn excavated in the 18th century is unknown.

A cairn at Maredown opened in the late 18th century yielded "ashes, burnt wood and pieces of earthen vessels, the fragments of urns" presumably Bronze Age.
