Full description
Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Mosaic, approximately 1838-1848 (Cartographic). SDV349431.
The extent of the extraction pit is broadly defined by a single small plot on the Littleham parish tithe map of 1838-48.

An extraction pit of probable medieval to post-medieval date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards, to the north of Liverton Farm. The extraction pit, which is defined as a single small plot on the Littleham parish tithe map of approximately 1838-48, is sub-oval in shape, measures approximately 38.5m in length by 22.5m in width and is located within an area dominated by similar such earthwork features. The former extraction pit remains visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1988, although appears to have been completely levelled by 1996.
