The former extraction pit is symbolised on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s.

An extraction pit of probable post-medieval to modern date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1945 onwards and remains visible on digital images derived from LiDAR data captured between 1998-2012, to the east of Woodlands Farm. The former extraction pit is symbolised on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s. It is oval in shape, measures approximately 26m in length by 19m in width and is located within an area dominated by similar such earthwork features.
