Full description
Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.
Only one additional building is shown to the east of the road.
Gover, J. E. B. + Mawer, A. + Stenton, F. M., 1932, The Place-Names of Devon: Part Two, 596 (Monograph). SDV337894.
Mincombe is 'Myncome' in 1313. Possibly the first element is the old name of the stream here. Ekwall suggests Old English placename element 'minte', hence 'mint valley'. No certainty is possible.
Exeter Archaeology, 2003-2004, East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Archaeological Survey, 209 (Archive - Survey). SDV351568.
The Ordnance Survey 1891map shows more buildings to east of road at Lower Mincombe Farm (Mincombe Farm on 1891 map) than shown on modern map. Three structures shown south/south-east of current building.
Ordnance Survey, 2014, MasterMap (Cartographic). SDV355681.
Farmstead now marked 'Lower Mincombe Farm' to west of road, and 'Mincombe Barn' to east.
