A large earthwork depression is visible on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2016 and corresponds approximately to a plot recorded as 'Pit Orchard' on the Tithe Map. The earthwork is interpreted as a post-medieval extractive pit that passed out of use prior to circa 1840, after which it was planted as an orchard. The orchard passed out of use prior to circa 1904, and appears to have developed naturally into woodland after. The plot continues to be under tree cover.
