Regimental badges, such as upon the Harberton war memorial tablet, are an example of one the main decorative motifs found on the war memorials of the South Hams. The war memorial tablets were placed either side of a window directly opposite the entrance to the church, each within their own defined space.

Large wall mounted rectangular tablet with pediment at the top and columns at either side. Black lettering, with gilt lettering at the top, and regimental badges. Carving on the columns.
Inscription: A.M.D.G./ IN LOVING MEMORY OF/ THOSE WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES/ FOR THEIR KING AND EMPIRE OF THE/ ONE HUNDRED AND TEN HARBERTON MEN/ CALLED TO SERVE/ IN THE GREAT WAR/ 1914 1918/ (NAMES)/ "THESE ARE THEY WHICH CAME OUT OF/ GREAT TRIBULATION"
