The quarry is visible as an earthwork pit.

A quarry of probable post-medieval to modern date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards, to the east of St. Matthew’s Church in Butterleigh. The quarry is sub-oval in shape and measures approximately 20m in length by 16m in width. A number of similar such features are depicted on historical mapping within the surrounding area. The quarry remains visible as a probable, shallow earthwork pit on digital images derived from aerial photographs taken in 2006.
