Ten roughly parallel earthwork banks, probably orchard tree planting banks of probable post medieval to 19th century date were visible as earthwork banks to the south of Westcott on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards. Although the banks are visible on the 1946 aerial photograph, their extent cannot be transcribed due to tree cover.
The closely spaced banks are orientated east to west and measure between approximately 3 to 4 metres across. The area of visible earthworks corresponds with an orchard depicted on the Ordnance Survey first edition 25inch map.
The earthwork banks remain clearly defined on images derived from lidar data captured in 2010, with the exception of circa 1000 square metres in the north-west corner of the field that appears to have been levelled.
