A former possible field boundary of probable medieval to post medieval date was visible on aerial photographs of the 1940s and images derived from lidar data as a curvilinear broad but shallow earthwork ditch to the north of Bolealler House.
The earthwork ditch does not correspond with any boundaries depicted on the Ordnance Survey first edition 25inch map of the 1880s-1890s or the Tithe map for Cullompton. It is therefore probable that the boundary had passed out of use prior to the 1840s.
