Summary

A possible simple modern water meadow system north of Yondercott Farm is visible as two irregular linear earthwork ditches on aerial photographs taken from the 1940s onwards and on images derived from lidar data captured in 2005. Earthworks are likely to survive.

Two linear ditches, circa one metre in width, are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken from 1946 onwards and on images derived from lidar data captured in 2005. They are well-defined and aligned approximately north-east to south-west, with a slightly irregular orientation. They appear to have been taken off a drain at the north-east end of a narrow field, and join another drain 330 metres to the south-west. Dropping less than 5 metres in height, they may have functioned as a simple watermeadow. The ditches were well-defined in 1946 and probably of modern date, as they are not depicted on early twentieth century maps. Partial earthworks as well as below-ground remains are likely to survive.
