The earthwork remains of probable orchard banks of post-medieval date were visible as earthwork banks at Higher Comberoy Farm. The visible earthworks fall within the southern half of a plot depicted as an orchard on the Ordnance Survey first edition 25inch map. The northern half of this field remained densely planted into the 1940s. This has now largely been cleared of tree planting but the orchard banks remain visible only in the southern half of the former orchard on digital images derived from lidar data acquired in 1995. This might support the interpretation that the tree clearance resulted in the levelling of the banks in the northern part of the plot.
