The earthwork bank corresponds with a depicted field boundary.

A former field boundary, potentially of medieval date, was visible as an earthwork bank on aerial photographs of 1946 to 1967, located to the east of Station Road, Hele. The curvilinear earthwork corresponds to a boundary depicted on the Tithe Map for Bradninch, but not the Ordnance Survey First Edition map, and had therefore probably passed out of use in the later 19th century. The earthwork was probably levelled during the construction of the M5.
