Summary
A possible small catch meadow was visible on aerial photographs of 1946 as two earthwork ditches or gutters, to the south of Stockwell House. The gutters are not visible on recent images and have probably been levelled.

A possible small catch meadow was visible on aerial photographs of 1946 as two curvilinear earthwork ditches or gutters that roughly followed the contours of the hillslope in the field to the south of Stockwell House. The upper gutter appeared to be partly blocked with vegetation, possibly supporting the interpretation that it had not been maintained for some time. The gutters were probably supplied with water from the spring-fed stream that flows along the field’s western boundary. The gutters are not visible on recent images and have probably been levelled by landscaping to the south and west of Stockwell House.
