An extraction pit of post-medieval to modern date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards. The sub-oval shaped earthwork measures approximately 38m in length by 26.5m in width and is situated within the southeast corner of an agricultural field. The extraction pit would have likely been associated with a local farm, such as Yeo Farm to the east or the former, now demolished farm, of Shilcroft to the south, to provide building materials such as marl or stone for use around the farm. The extraction pit remains visible as an earthwork pit on digital images derived from Lidar data captured between 2005 and 2010.
