Full description
HUTCHINSON 1926, Untitled Source (Migrated Record). SDV116725.
Market cross. Hutchinson, referring to old fore street and church street, says: "of these streets one came from the country on the north directly to the market cross. This cross is mentioned in a deed of 1322: "cruce juxta capellam beati petri". Finally taken down in 1795. It stood near the steps of the west entrance of the market house" (hutchinson 1926).

Sidmouth Market Cross
A cross is mentioned in a deed of 1322 - 'cruce jaxta capellam beati petri' finally taken down in 1795. It stood near the steps of the west entrance of the Market House.
