Parallel linear earthwork banks, circa 4 metres in width, are visible on historic aerial photographs taken from 1946 onwards, and on images derived from lidar data captured between 2005 and 2010. This field immediately to the north of Southwood was depicted as orchard on the late-19th century mapping. Scattered trees are visible on aerial photographs taken between 1946 and 1967, and the earthworks are interpreted as banks for fruit tree planting, which are likely to be post-medieval or 19th century in date.
