Parallel linear earthwork banks, circa 3.5 metres in width, are visible on historic aerial photographs taken from 1967, and on images derived from lidar data captured between 2005 and 2010. These two parcels of land to the north of Southwood were depicted as orchard on the late-19th century mapping. The ground surface is obscured by trees on aerial photographs taken in 1946, and the earthworks are interpreted as banks for fruit tree planting, which are likely to be post-medieval or 19th century in date.
