Plots 21 and 22 on the Clyst St George Tithe Map of 1839 are recorded as 'Kiln Marsh' and plot 33 is recorded as 'Second Kiln Marsh' within the Tithe Apportionment. The field names indicate the presence of a kiln within the vicinity, although no features are depicted within this location on the Tithe Map or later First Edition 25 inch Ordnance Survey map.
