Possible former field boundaries of post-medieval date were visible as earthwork banks on aerial photographs of the 1940s in the Exe valley south of Lower Chitterley.
An east to west aligned bank fell within the extant, probably post-medieval field pattern but did not correspond with any field boundaries depicted on the Tithe Map for Rewe, supporting the interpretation that it passed out of use prior to the 1840s. Remains of a short north to south spur were visible at circa SS943037, some 12 metres west of a boundary depicted on the Tithe Map. This might be evidence of an earlier phase of enclosure.
The boundaries were not visible as earthworks or cropmarks on aerial photographs later than 1967 in date and appear to have been levelled.
