A possible former field boundary of probable medieval to post-medieval date was visible on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards as a narrow earthwork bank in the Exe Valley, north-west of Up Exe. The curvilinear earthwork is visible within a loop of the River Exe on its western bank. It might have marked the edge of a former water channel. It does not obviously correspond with any features depicted on the historic maps available to the survey and was therefore probably removed prior to the 1840s.
