Orchard banks of probable post-medieval to modern date are visible as a series of linear earthwork banks on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards, at Lower Woodmanton Farm. Orchards are first depicted here on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s, although by 1946 aerial photographs show that the orchard trees have been largely grubbed out, leaving a series of parallel east to west aligned earthwork banks, on which the fruit trees were established, visible. These banks occupy two plots either side of the farm on gentle northwest facing slope. The orchard banks are clearly visible on aerial photographs of 1965, although appear to have been almost completely levelled by 1979. Their survival after this date is uncertain.
