Summary

Possible orchard banks of post-medieval to modern date are visible as a series of linear earthwork banks on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards, to the southwest of Ford Farm. The earthwork banks are northwest to southeast aligned and occupy an area of approximately 0.77 hectares of northwest facing slope, within a single plot depicted on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map. The site of the possible orchard is not, however, symbolised on this map, suggesting that the orchard trees may have been grubbed up by this time. The orchard banks are faintly visible as a series of possible earthwork banks on digital images derived from aerial photographs taken in 2010.
