Orchard banks of probable post-medieval to modern date are visible as a series of linear earthwork banks on aerial photographs of 1965 onwards, at Woodbury. The site of the orchard is first symbolised on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s. The orchard remains largely covered with fruit trees until aerial photographs of 1965 when they have been almost completely grubbed up, leaving a series of parallel east to west aligned earthwork banks visible. These banks occupy an area of approximately 0.16 hectares of gentle west facing slope within a small rectilinear shaped plot sited within the core of the village. The earthwork banks remain visible on aerial photographs of 2000, although by 2010 digital images derived from aerial photographs show that the site has been completely levelled and developed for residential housing.
