Orchard banks of probable post-medieval to modern date are visible as a series of linear earthwork banks on aerial photographs of 1946, at Rushmore Farm. An orchard is depicted here on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s, although by 1946, aerial photographs show that the orchard trees have been almost completely grubbed up, leaving a series of parallel northwest to southeast aligned earthwork banks, on which the fruit trees were established, visible. These banks occupy an area of approximately 0.15 hectares of west facing slope, within a single rectilinear shaped plot on the south side of the former farm. The earthwork banks are not visible on aerial photographs after 1946 and by 1988 the site of the former orchard has been given over to woodland.
