The elongated shaped feature is first symbolised on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s, within an area where other such similar features, one of which is listed as a marl pit, are depicted. It measures approximately 24m in length by 17m in width and remains visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs up until 1967, having been completely levelled by 1989.
