An earthwork pit, circa 50 by 34 metres in extent, is visible on aerial photographs taken between 1946 and 1969. A clay pit is marked on historic mapping approximately 200 metres to the south-east, and the earthwork is interpreted as another extraction pit, probably of post-medieval or early-19th century date, since it is not depicted on the historic maps. The adjacent field boundary curves around the quarry and may post-date it. The pit is not visible on later available imagery and may have been levelled.
