Two irregular shaped earthwork depressions between circa 35m and 55m across are visible on images derived from lidar data captured in 2016. The depressions are situated partially within a plot recorded as 'Pit Close'. They correspond approximately with 'Old Marl Pits' depicted on the First and Second Edition OS maps and depicted as earthworks subsequently. One of the pits has a pond within it by the mid-20th century. The depressions are interpreted as marl pits of post-medieval origin, that passed out of use by the end of the 20th century.
