An extraction pit of possible post-medieval to 19th century date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1948 and on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998-2014, to the north of Clayhidon Mill Bridge. The semi-circular shaped earthwork measures approximately 41m in length by 25m in width and is located within an area where a number of similar such features have been recorded during this survey.
