Full description
Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division, SS41NE33 (Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division Card). SDV13333.
Department of Environment, 1973, Great Torrington, 16 (List of Blds of Arch or Historic Interest). SDV2214.
The former Toll House in Mill Street in Great Torrington. Probably built circa 1830, altered. Rectangular with rounded lean-to wing, west. Two storeys, two windows, with exposed frames and glazing bars, at each floor. Roughly coursed stonework with rendered bands, parapet etc. The Toll House and Taddiport Bridge form a group.

Tollhouse was presumably also used in connection with Rolle Road, which was opened as a toll road in 1875.

At the south end of Great Torrington on the north-east corner of the bridge to Taddiport. A square two storey building opposite the entrance to the dairy, this is a very good example of a bridge tollhouse.
