The Tithe Map shows the inn building; 897 on the Apportionment.

This building predates the hotel part and was constructed in the 18th century. It served as the Fox and Hounds Inn until the hotel was constructed at the turn of the century. Now it is mostly private accommodation for the proprietors apart from one room, which has been made into a pool room. The old, low-beamed ceiling and thick granite walls have been retained, as well as the large open fireplace, retaining much of its original character. The old barn has since been converted into a skittle alley.
