A curvilinear bank up to circa 2 metres wide and over 130 metres long was visible on aerial photographs of 1967 as an earthwork or cropmark of a bank to the south of Norman’s Green, Plymtree parish.
The visible earthwork did not correspond with any field boundary depicted on the 19th century mapping available to the survey. It has therefore been interpreted as the remains of a former field boundary, probably of post-medieval date, possibly incorporating earlier medieval elements, that was removed prior to the mid-19th century.
The former boundary is not visible as an earthwork on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014 and has probably been levelled.
