Linear banks and ditches up to 5 metres wide were visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of 1946 defining a small rectilinear field pattern to the east of Fordmore Farm, Plymtree parish.
The visible earthworks did not correspond with any field boundaries depicted on the 19th century mapping available to the survey but was broadly in keeping with the surrounding field pattern which has been characterised as being post-medieval in date.
They have therefore been interpreted as the remains of former field boundaries probably of post-medieval date that were removed prior to the mid-19th century. The former boundary earthworks were probably levelled during the subsequent eastward expansion of the farmyard at Fordmore Farm.
