The visible banks cover a small area of almost 0.7 ha, falling within a plot listed on the Tithe Apportionments for Plymtree as Great Orchard. The plot remained depicted as an orchard on the early 20th century OS 25 inch maps and the banks could be seen under moderate planting in 1946. The banks were clearly visible as earthworks under very light planting on digital images derived from aerial photographs of 2010.
