Summary
Linear earthwork banks, indistinctly visible on aerial photographs taken from 1947 and on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014, are tentatively interpreted as tree planting banks for a post-medieval to 19th century orchard that went out of use by the mid-19th century.

Parallel linear earthwork banks are visible on aerial photographs taken from 1947 and on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014. Their broadly cross-contour orientation is indicative of post-medieval or 19th century tree planting banks, although this plot of land was recorded as pasture on the Tithe apportionment and no features are depicted in this area on the late-19th century OS mapping, so it is tentatively interpreted as orchard banks that went out of use by the mid-19th century.
