Collings, T., 2015, Deer Parks (Personal Comment). SDV360119.
There is a poor correlation between parishes with documented deer parks and parishes with deer park field names. Langtree parish provides an example. According to Risdon, Sir Thomas Brown ‘built himself a dwelling house, with a park thereunto’. A deer park is shown on the 1969 Pathfinder and 1906 25 inch maps just to the east of East Browns in the south-west of the parish but the only relevant field name is North Deer Park (877) at Lower Collacott, 1.6km to the north-east.
