Full description

South West Heritage Trust, 1838-1848, Digitised Tithe Maps and Transcribed Apportionments, Plot 230 (Cartographic). SDV359954.

The Tithe Map shows a homestead with rectangular dwelling aligned north-west by south-east on the northern side of the lane, and two additional buildings to the south-east and south-west of the house. Plot 230: 'Wood House Homestead, Gardens and Road'. Part of the 'Newhouse Wood and Coldharbour' estate.

The later 19th century historic map shows 'Wood Cottages'; the dwelling shown on the Tithe Map. Building to the south-east has survived; that to the south-west is no longer shown.

Aerial image is unclear, but the dwelling may have fallen into disrepair by this time. South-eastern building survives.
