Full description

The 19th century map shows a linear feature running north-east to south-west from a point to the north-east of 'Cadaford Bridge' to a small rectangular building. The feature seems to predate the road and a 'Gravel Pit' shown in the area to the north-west of the bridge.

Deep gully shown on 19th century map aligned east-north-east to west-south-west just downhill from the main entrance track to Lower Cadworthy Farm. The gully or drain is about 3 metres wide by 1.2-1.4 metres deep. The east end is cut by an old gravel pit but may have continued on the east side of the road. The feature may be associated with china clay workings below Brisworthy. The west end of the gully has a large pipe entering it from the north which may be associated with industrial activity on the east side of Wigford Down.
