Numerous linear and curvilinear cropmark and earthwork ditches and banks of varying widths are visible on aerial photographs taken from the 1940s onwards, and most are also visible on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014. They are in an area characterised as enclosures of medieval origin and are interpreted as the remains of former medieval or post-medieval field boundaries. Those features that are not depicted on the available historic mapping have been transcribed, and these boundaries presumably went out of use by the late-19th century. There are records of both a field system (MDV63099) and a ‘ringwork’ (MDV63269) in approximately this location, and although the exact extent of these other features is not clear they may be associated.
