Full description

Shown on early 20th century map as a rectilinear feature with a sluice shown as 'Sl' on the west side.

Site 30: Settling tank constructed post 1886 and before 1905 as an addition to the original works. It encloses an area circa 20 by 22 metres and up to 2.5 metres deep. It is of granite and earth mortar constuction similar to the two settling tanks to the south.
Site 31: The hatch door from this tank feeds directly into the tank to the north-west.
Site 32: A slurry channel circa 0.6 metres deep connects the settling pit to the east to this and the two tanks further north.
Site 33: This slurry channel conveys run-off water from the Mica Pit (Site 34) to the north to the slurry channel (Site 32).
