Full description
Berry, N. + Simmonds, T., 1996, An Archaeological Survey of Boro Wood (SX7571), Erme Wood (SX6357), Wistmans Wood (SX6177) and Newpark Waste (SX5961), 36, NW44-5 (Report - Survey). SDV360518.
SX5939 6183 - Wall.
Low wall up to 0.5 metres high and 15 metres long running parallel to the existing field boundary. Would appear that the latter is a post-medieval wall rebuilt on a pre-existing prehistoric alignment of wall and terrace.
SX5935 6185 - Wall and track.
Short section of rough stone wall in boulder strewn area abutting the south side of main contour boundary wall running east-south-east from Parkland Farm. Wall is partially overlain by pile of rocks / boulders forming a bank along the south side of the existing wall; similar to fields and terraces further upslope.
Also track entering field at north-west corner, lined with large rocks and boulders on either side. Characteristic of prehistoric approach tracks.
