SX69766014 Number 8 Church Street and the Toll House
These two joined buildings seem to represent part of a much earlier cottage (the Toll House so-called) with a more recent cottage no. 8 running behind it and not communicating with it. No. 8 is rendered, with a single span slate roof at a lower level than numbers 6 and 7 Church Street to the east. There are sash windows to the first floor. It was rebuilt at the same period as nos. 6 and 7.
On the Tithe Map the site seem to be represented by a single rectangle. The entry reads:
2974: ‘Dwelling house, owner Peter Ford’. Peter Ford is listed as ‘Mason’ in White’s Directory of 1850.
