Full description
Oldham, D. W., 1906, The Private Chapels of Devon: Ancient and Modern, 397 (Article in Serial). SDV7299.
There is a reference to a licence given to Thomas Peverel and his wife at the Manor of 'Wolmerstones' in Bishop Brantyngham's register (late 14th century).
Hoskins, W. G., 1954, A New Survey of England: Devon, 372 (Monograph). SDV17562.
A chapel dedicated to St Mary was licensed here in 1374. Remains of it with a braced roof of 14th century date may be seen in a hayloft in the farmyard.
