Summary

SX69666019 No. 53 Church Street 'Cornerways'
The face that this house presents to the street is not straight but has two roughly equal lengths that make a shallow angle. Doors and windows are modern but there is a chimney of very old appearance, axial and stone built, at the north end of the roof. The house is stone built and rendered with a single span slate roof at slightly different levels from the adjoining houses (1 Wellington Square and 52 Church Street).
On the Tithe Map (1843) the angle of the street frontage does not show so well but it is almost certain that the house is represented by plot 3046: 'Dwelling house.'
