SX69846018 Nos. 1, 2 and 3 Royal Oak Cottages, Station Road
This row of cottages, above the Royal Oak was present in 1843 at the time of the Tithe Apportionment (see source). At this date, the owner of the Royal Oak was Christopher Furneaux (occupier John Soper); William Pearse owned Town Farm. It is difficult to see the connection between these cottages and the Royal Oak but perhaps there was one.
The building are two storey, stone built and colour washed with a single span slate roof. The ground floor windows and doors have dressed granite arches, the first floor windows timber lintels. The chimneys are of brick. Modern windows. There is a date stone ‘W P 1826’ high in the front wall at the south; presumably William Pearse.

Depicted on the modern mapping.
