Full description
South West Heritage Trust, 1838-1848, Digitised Tithe Maps and Transcribed Apportionments (Cartographic). SDV359954.
The circa 1840 parish tithe apportionment documents plot 68 as Parlour and Orchard, perhaps indicating there was once a house here or is making reference to the existing settlement just north of plot 68.

Barton Site of, is named on the First Edition 1880s-90s Ordnance Survey map. It may be referring to the farmstead to the north, depicted on the earlier circa 1840 parish tithe map or a farmstead that predated this.

In the Confessor's time, this intake belonged to Wado. It was later called Wallestone. Clannaborough, Walson, and Thorn, in the parish of Clannaborough, were enumerated together as constituting one fee. Identified as a Domesday estate.
