Full description
Kaye, S., 2018, Two Possible Enclosures visible on Lidar, Northlew, West Devon (Interpretation). SDV361304.
The enclosure in the fields to the west of South Yeo Cross has a a maximum diameter of circa 123 metres. It is irregular in shape but broadly circular. The most upstanding southern side rises circa 0.5 metres but this may be due to later use of the enclosure boundary for fields. Elsewhere the elevations are only a few centimetres. The enclosure in the south also shows signs of bank straightening, i.e. later alteration of the circular bank, together with openings. The enclosure is cut by all later field boundaries.

The enclosure complex recorded in the HER are part of a larger palimpset of earthworks, indicative of several phases of enclosure and associated linear features. The west side of this complex is partly fossilised by historic field boundaries.

Curvilinear ditches are visible as earthworks.
