Summary

Farmstead recorded on 19th century mapping. It appears to have changed in layout in the late 19th/early 20th century with the creation of a smaller, square yard and the building of a new farmhouse to the north.

Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Mosaic, approximately 1838-1848 (Cartographic). SDV349431.

Farmstead depicted comprising buildings around a rectangular yard with what appears to be a barn and horse engine house at the western end.

Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.

Billhole marked, comprising ranges of buildings around the north, west and south-west sideds of a rectangular yard. Comparison with the Tithe Map shows the layout of the farmsted to have changed little.

Billhole marked, comprising ranges of buildings around a square yard with the farmhouse standing separately to the north east at the northern end of a yard/garden and another small isolated building to the east. Comparison with the 1880s-1890s map shows the eastern end of the farmyard to have been demolished and a new building, making up the east side of a smaller yard. The farmhouse was also built during the period between the two maps.
