Parallel earthwork banks are visible on digital images derived from aerial photographs of 2003 to the south-west of South Kenwood, Kenton. The banks are spaced between 8 to 10 metres apart and are aligned cross-contour. They are interpreted as banks made to enhance drainage and provide additional depth of soil within an orchard. The plot in which the banks are visible (1773) is depicted as an orchard on the Tithe Map for Kenton and listed as Great Orchard in the apportionment. The orchard remained planted into the 1940s. The banks are visible as subtle earthworks on digital images derived from aerial photographs of 2016.
