Linear earthwork banks, circa 5m in width, are visible on aerial photographs taken in 1946, to the southeast of Simpson Farm, Denbury and Torbryan. The parallel northeast to southwest aligned earthworks are in keeping with the historic field pattern depicted in this location on the mid-19th century Parish Tithe Map which is characterised as medieval enclosures based on strip fields. The earthworks do not correspond with any linear features shown on this map, or on subsequent available historic maps and they are therefore interpreted as relict medieval field boundaries which had passed out of use by the mid-19th century. The relict field boundaries are not visible as earthworks on aerial imagery after 1946 and have likely since been levelled.
